The tournament, overseen by director Philip Rouder, drew 43 young athletes from across Florida and other states to compete in the Boys and Girls 16U and 18U divisions. Chan, entering as the top seed in the Boys 16U category, navigated his way to the finals with notable victories, including a hard-fought semi-final against Sebastian Pimentel from Hollywood, FL, which ended with a tense 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 11-9 tiebreaker win.
In the FInals, Chan faced off against Luca Morello of Tampa, FL. Chan was forced to retire while trailing 1-3 in the match due to the heat conditions, marking the end of an impressive tournament run for the young talent from New York.
