Mark Slama
Director of Strategic Planning
Marc is an authentic globe-trotter, born of an American mother and French father. After obtaining a master’s degree in engineering in France, Marc’s unrelenting passion for tennis led him to choose a career as a development coach for aspiring juniors.
Based on the philosophy that player development cannot be only technical and strategic but has to be integrated within the whole human dimension, Marc uses his listening and comprehension skills in order to help each player reach his maximum potential as an athlete and as a person.
Marc’s coaching experience was built on both sides of the Atlantic. He has been based in South East Florida working with juniors since 2010, at first coaching a private group of competitive juniors which became NGTI in 2017 shortly after Werner joined the team. In 2021 Marc separated with the program to accompany and coach his daughter Mia on the ITF junior and professional tour. During his career he has guided players to multiple national and international titles and competing on the world’s greatest stages (all 4 Grand Slams), as well as athlete college scholarships in major universities but his major accomplishment is seeing the players he has impacted be successful in their adult life.
Marc is certified by the USPTA and USPTR and is also a Nationally Certified coach from the French Tennis Federation.
